James Galbraith Kirkpatrick is a ceramic artist based in Kent whose work explores repetition, absence and the spatial behaviour of vessels.

Predominantly crafted on a potters wheel, pieces are developed as individual objects yet conceived as part of larger compositions. Arranged in lines, clusters or fields, the works investigate how meaning shifts through proximity, distance and omission.

Surface is deliberately restrained. Mineral-rich wood-ash glazes create quiet tonal variation, shifting subtly with light and position.

Kirkpatrick studied Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and works from his studio in the Weald. His vessels can be found in leading restaurants and homeware stores across London and the South East, where functional objects operate within carefully composed environments.
